Nigeria Secures Record Victory as Ivory Coast Crumbles for Lowest T20I Score

In a remarkable ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Africa Qualifier match in Lagos, Nigeria defeated Ivory Coast by 264 runs, setting a record for the largest victory margin in men’s T20I cricket. After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Nigeria amassed 271 for 4, thanks to an impressive 112-run knock by Selim Salau, supported by half-centuries from Sulaimon Runsewe and Isaac Okpe.

Ivory Coast struggled immensely during their chase, getting bowled out for just 7 runs in 7.3 overs, marking the lowest total ever in men’s T20I history. The Nigerian bowlers dominated, with Isaac Danladi and Prosper Useni taking three wickets each, and Peter Aho claiming two.

This victory places Nigeria at the top of their group, while Ivory Coast, who also suffered a heavy loss to Sierra Leone in their previous match, remains at the bottom of the table.
